The Chain Gang in the 2012 film
The Chain Gang can be seen singing the "Work Song" within the first scene of the first act in the musical. In the play, they are seen rowing a large ship under the supervision of Javert and his men. However, in the film, they are seen pulling a large ship into a harbor. Jean Valjean is among them, one of the few to be given his yellow ticket-of-leave after the singing commences.
