Les Misérables Wiki

A cd case featuring Valjean in three different states. It appears as though they are standing in a bedroom with a large window showing the night sky, though the frames for the window panes double as the prison bars behind which the first Valjean stands, head hung with defeat. The middle Valjean still looks defeated, but his head perks toward the light as though he hears is calling him, and he stands somewhat straighter, no longer behind bars. The rightmost Valjean looks up hopefully, face illuminated with light from the candle he holds in a silver candlestick.

Differences[]

  • The story is told through a letter that Valjean is writing to Cosette explaining the events that took place
  • Fauchelevant was renamed to LaMont in this production.
    • LaMont works as a gardener at the St. Catherine's parish, not the Quartier Saint Antoine.
  • The character Dilber is added in to explain Mayor Madeleine's history
  • Gavroche is almost 9 years old at the time of the battle, and unlike in the novel, is not stated to be related to the Thenardiers in any way.
  • This audio drama implies that Eponine is the only child of The Thénardiers.

Trivia[]

  • This production features the youngest actress to play Cosette, with Heather Heyer, who was credited as Lily Milton due to her age being 5 and 6 years old at the time of recording her lines in February 2000.
