Russell Crowe got loads of criticism from people for his role as Javert (mostly his singing) in the 2012 musical film and i don't think he deserved it at all. i thought he was brilliant and his voice perfectly matched the character. What does anyone else think?
What's on your mind?

it took me like 24601 years to process the fact that cosette from og broadway is pocahontas' singing voice actor. like i knew she was cosette and i knew she was pocahontas but i didn't associate them in any way, shape, or form. i think she's one of my favorite cosette's actually because she's not excessively vibrato-y. sorry for this hsdkhdlehdhbj

My high school did Les Mis as its musical this year! I played one of the chain gang members and one of the students!
So although this never made it into the musical, there is a scene before the student build the barricade where some dude shoots an innocent. It is then implied that this is Claquesous, one of the Patron Minette. I feel like this is very uncharacteristic of him. He is described as a shadow, he’s there and then he’s not. It feels wrong that he just joins a rebellion and shoots a dude. Maybe Babet, perhaps, would be more characteristic.
Hi.
I'm vaguely aware that on Wikipedia there is a rule that requires any added information must be confirmed by 3 valid sources. Does that apply here too? Can I directly quote from the book or paraphrase when contributing to pages? If so, which versions of the book are regarded as the genuine source of information?
Thanks :)
Ok, let's be real here. Gavroche is by far the cutest and youngest character in the play and the movie. His loyalty to his friends and pride for France and he has touched my heart every time I watch the movie. However, I am devastated and horrified when he sacrificed by going in the direct line of fire when collecting ammunition. I am also enraged at the national guardsmen when they laughed at Gavroche before shooting him while he was in the process of collecting ammo and singing a song.
I hardcore ship Enjolras and Eponine. I firmly believe that, given more time, Eponine could get over Marius and fall in love with Enjolras. I also think that if Enjolras had more time, he could fall in love with Eponine as well. And if anyone says that he didn't really notice her, look again.
Has anyone seen this yet and what do they think of it and the cast? The first episode (there are six) will be shown in Australia this Sunday (10th March), so I haven't seen it yet. Being a book nerd, I can be very pedantic about film and TV producers sticking to books. I do love the musical so I have forgiven them for playing with the book storyline in some places.
